Listed barn conversion and new housing at Moorsholm

Steve Hesmondhalgh & Associates LLP have been successful in obtaining planning and listed building consent for the conversion of a dilapidated listed barn and erection of five new houses outside the village envelope of Moorsholm on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.
Working for farmer client Keith Norman we were able to prepare a case that showed it was not economically possible to repair and restore the listed barn on the farm.  The new housing; designed as a new farmhouse and converted outbuildings around a courtyard will pay for the restoration of the listed barn.
Enabling planning arguments of this type are relatively rare though Steve Hesmondhalgh & Associates LLP are developing a reputation as experts in this field.

The removal of the existing farm complex is scheduled for later this year and works for the restoration of the listed building will follow.
